Board of Directors
Mr. Mike DeSalle (Chair): Mr. DeSalle holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee and is currently a faculty contractor for Accenture’s Consulting University for Senior Managers providing CXO corporate suite training to senior managers from across the globe. He was formerly the Chief Financial Officer of Asian Human Services, Inc. and Asian Human Services Family Health Center, Inc. from 2012 to 2015. From 1989 to 2011 he was the Vice President of Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer of Columbia College Chicago. Prior to joining Columbia, Mr. DeSalle was Controller of Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago and Associate Controller of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. For many years, Mr. DeSalle was an adjunct faculty member lecturing in finance, accounting and economics to graduate students in the Arts Management program at Columbia. He has three children and currently resides with his wife Jacqueline in Chicago, IL. In addition to being Chairman of the Board of AHS Family Health Center, Inc. he is Board member of the Malta Conferences Foundation, Inc., a Washington D. C. based group founded by scientists using science innovation, research and education as a bridge to peace in the Middle East.
Mr. James Luciano (Vice Chair): Mr. Luciano has an extensive background in management, methodology lifecycle development and Information Technology (IT). He also has years of experience with companies such as Accenture and most recently CDK Global. Mr. Luciano's current position requires him to identify, plan and execute programs which are focused on cost optimization, operational efficiency, and improved governance for the Global Infrastructure Organization. His areas of expertise which is a major contribution for the Board includes infrastructure strategy, vendor management, and portfolio management. Mr. Luciano is also an avid believer in civic responsibility and has had active participation in Upwardly Global helping displaced skilled immigrants enter the U.S. workforce.
Ms. Fe Cabrera (Treasurer): Ms. Cabrera brings an extensive wealth of experience in US Government and Non-Government programs with the overseas civilian and military populations. Coordinated the activities of US Physicians Inc., an (SSA) Social Security Administration Medicare Certified Home Visiting Doctors Facility (Physicians/Certified Nurse Practitioners/Physicians Assistants). A company that implements and executes a government mandate which is a “Prevention/Intervention Program” to realize the meaning of “Community Health”. A fierce advocate for Community Health Ms. Cabrera has worked throughout her career to bridge the intersections of policy, agencies, and providers to provide the best patient quality care.
Mr. Muhammad H Khan (Secretary): Mr. Hameedullah Khan is a well known Asian community activist living on the north side of Chicago for the past four decades. His contributions and accomplishments include educational, social, cultural, community and humanitarian causes. Additionally, to name a few more contributions, he founded Pakistan Cultural Society in 1976 to promote rich culture and heritage of Pakistan as well as Pakistan Federation of America Chicago in 1983. He also founded the first Urdu-Bilingual council at Hayt Elementary Public School in 1985. Mr. Khan holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Roosevelt University, Chicago. He also holds an M.A. degree in Political Science/Government and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree both from Karachi University, Pakistan. He worked for Illinois Department of Employment Security for more than two decades.
